Abstract

People worshipping different Gods live harmoniously in Kerala. The ancient and medieval trade relations played a crucial role in developing this cultural integration in this land. Along with exchange of goods in trade, different cultures also got exchanged during those periods. It was during medieval period, Kerala become the land where people of different religions began to live together. The Brahmins, the Muslims, the Christians, the Buddhists, the Jains and the Jews spread in Kerala during that period. The naduvazhis viewed all equally and granted them different kinds of rights. Thus trade relations had an important role in the cultural synthesis of Kerala.
