Abstract

Tourism is growing as a major contributor to the GDP of the country. Various researches have been done with the focus to predict the travel intensions for tourism research. There is a complex decision making process to select the travel destination which are governed by various factors that affect the decision. This research focuses on identifying various variables that govern the decision making of an individual for the travel destination and classify them into factors thereby developing a framework to map the decision making process. For the purpose of research tools like factor analysis, percentage analysis, chi-square test is used. A conceptual framework is designed on the basis of the results. Implications useful for theory and marketing perspective are derived.
